Much as I didn’t want to I just moved my Fediverse account from here at micro.blog to my account on infosec.exchange infosec.exchange/@jasonekr…
Just going to have more control there.
Had a brief taste of Fall here in Chicagoland and it was wonderful. 66 glorious degrees and cloudy all day. Back to the sauna soon though.
Jesus. Dipping my toe into just a bit of what’s going on out there and already feel like I want to jump out of my skin.
Just found out I got bit hard by Google Drive. Files just gone and I only found out by chance. Thankfully I had a backup via Arq stored in Backblaze B2.
Pretty sure Jason Snell needs a history refresh about this whole Apple/Commodore thing. I’ll be posting about it later of course.
From the “Isn’t is obvious” department a current headline for a story on the NYT: “Supreme Court Keeps Ruling in Trump’s Favor, but Doesn’t Say Why”
Made myself feel better and donated $50 to the Wikimedia Foundation today and $50 the other day to the Internet Archive. Planning on setting up some routine donations to other places as well given the Federal government’s war on public broadcasting.

I keep seeing Crucial Tracks now and they have no privacy policy about how the data is used. Or did I miss something? Also amused at how Apple gets categorized into three buckets: evil/not great/the best when it comes to things like privacy of user data 😆
Have been using Vivaldi a bit and discovered a really nice feature: if you use the bookmarks bar you can click on a folder there and add the active tab as a bookmark. Nice shortcut!
It's break time
I'm trying to figure out what I want to do on this website so taking a break for a bit to give it some thought. Everything has been unpublished while I do that. See ya all on the other side.
Really trying hard to remove myself from the echo chamber I keep finding myself in online. micro.blog needs another Jean or needs an automated Discover feed. The one as it exists is not a feature to sell the platform when it is hardly updated.
