@pktp yeah I’m not surprised given that I couldn’t find jack about it after hearing about it on the local news today at noon.

@jsonbecker yes I just got that as well!

@allmylovesteph.bsky.social That these people post this shit seriously is just many levels beyond stupid. Dude you passed because of Vance in the Senate. Everyone but two in your party caved in the house after an hours-long sideshow. Don’t lecture us on sideshows.

@atrupar.com Key words: “drive-by-shooting”. Nobody gives a damn. It’s disgusting.

@petebuttigieg.bsky.social Did anyone actually think otherwise? I just heard on MSNBC that there was “danger” that it wouldn’t pass in time for Trump’s 7/4 deadline. Bullshit. There was never danger, just theater.

@dejus my Instagram feed is full of cat and dog videos. That doesn’t mean there isn’t a problem. @manton

@jsonbecker thanks. Will check out bogleheads.

@jsonbecker understood 😆 Was just curious if you were looking at specific ETFs. I like having examples to look thru from people I expect have a clue about how to research.

@jsonbecker any examples? My only ETFs right now are S&P500-based. Mutual Funds are via my 401k pretty much where I don’t have much of a choice.

@cheesemaker I was just going to ask this myself! @jsonbecker

@robertbreen I think like in the past parents either help foster a love of reading in their kids or they don’t. I don’t buy this idea that all of a sudden nobody is reading because, as you said, the evidence in public shows otherwise. Both of my Gen Z kids are voracious readers.

@ChrisJWilson Nando’s is awesome. We have quite a few in the Chicago area.

@jsonbecker 💯 the other day I saw an accusation of someone dragging someone else back in to something which made me chuckle since that isn’t possible - we all have agency to respond to something or not. Of course easy to say, maybe not so easy to follow 😆

@annie saying this with the nicest intent possible…I hope whoever put that in his head got the proverbial slap since we havent had a draft since 1973. Cant imagine it popped in there on its own.

@gregmorris thanks so much for creating the app. Just downloaded it and loving it so far.

@jsonbecker good post. I generally hate social media these days but frankly that might be a bad way of looking at it. It’s my problem with how I tend to use it, which is to say, I let myself get involved in the toxicity. Doesn’t have to be that way. Thanks for giving me something to think about.

@jim 👏 But really? You feel sore? Why the hell would that be? 🤣

@manton most of those clowns (Senators) got what they wanted it appears. Murkowski and Hawley both noted how bad it was but voted for it anyhow. Guess as long as their states got whatever they wanted they figure the hell with everyone else. And now more talk out of Trump today about deporting citizens, etc.

@pktp honestly so far it’s fine but yeah normally i wait as well haha. battery usage is terrible but I expect that with the betas.

@pktp yeah agreed. I’m on Tahoe and iPad OS 26 beta so gave it a go for a few days. Pretty cool but some very weird limitations that i think might be due to Swift UI being used to run the same version on all three platforms (like….I can’t indent list items?) for most people probably not an issue.

@manton I realize its a complex situation but I don’t like this at all based on what you’ve written. As always the user gets screwed here.

@birming maybe make time for both? Clearly tinkering can take the place of writing if not careful but that doesn’t mean it has to!

@numericcitizen I recently tried switching to Android with a Pixel Pro. Lasted about 2 days. The hardware was top notch but I’m just too used to the integrations within Apple, like copy and paste between devices.

@numericcitizen should say fan of the underdogs. I have never used ChatGPT. Use Claude and Gemini quite a bit though. Very useful tools!

@numericcitizen it is to me given that I’m 100% Apple. But I’m also a fan of the underdog 😁
